Before I became a pediatric sleep consultant, I was an Elementary School Teacher - before that, an Early Childhood Educator. My professional life has always - in one way or another - involved working closely with children and families.

When I became a parent four years ago, I had no idea about newborn or infant sleep. Like many other new parents, I worried about sleepless nights, and how I would cope with the sleep deprivation that comes with being a parent.

In an attempt to navigate the sleep struggles of my first daughter, I stumbled upon the world of sleep consulting. I learned that sleep consultants are cheerleaders, coaches, educators and well-needed supports when it comes to childhood sleep. Most importantly, I learned that with a strong plan and developmentally appropriate strategies, parents can, in fact, help their young babies be great, independent sleepers - early on. Better yet, I learned that despite what social media (and well-meaning relatives suggest) sleep deprivation and parenthood do not need to go hand-in-hand!

With that in mind, I became very curious about how I could help change the narrative about sleep and parenthood - and help families in my community get better sleep. I am a teacher after all and have always been a big fan of sleep, so the thought of helping parents navigate what has been one of the toughest learning curves of my life seemed like a very natural transition in my teaching career.

I enrolled in the Child Sleep Consultant program at the Family Sleep Institute and spent many months learning from some of the best, most experienced professionals in the field. With an extensive background in holistic sleep science, behavioural sleep education, sleep safety (and more!) I was finally ready to help families discover healthier, happier sleep.

I look forward to learning about your family’s sleep goals and helping you find confidence and clarity in providing your babies and young children with a solid sleep foundation.
